Ballasted Ground Mounted Solar System
.656 MW Ballasted Ground Mounted Solar System built under the Virtual Net Metering program and providing electricity savings to the Town's accounts as well as keeping our guys working outside while social distancing. This method of mounting does not penetrate the cap of the landfill, it allows the ballast blocks to sit snugly on a bed of gravel that is engineered to not only hold down the weight of the solar system, but not disturb the cap of the landfill. What could be a better use of a capped closed landfill than to re-purpose it to create jobs and cost savings for the local community? Can't think of one? Neither can we.
